From Cabadbaran to Abu Dhabi: Megghane Gayle Ramos’ Journey of Growth and Resilience

Some journeys begin with a dream, while others take shape along the way. For Megghane Gayle Ramos, a 2019 graduate of Caraga State University–Cabadbaran Campus, the journey from college to working overseas has been a story of learning, courage, and resilience.

A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Food Service Management Technology (BSINDT FSMT), Ramos is now working as a hostess and customer service professional at Asyak Grill LLC in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Her journey reflects how the lessons learned in college can become a foundation for growth long after graduation.

During her years at CarSU Cabadbaran Campus, Ramos learned more than the lessons written in textbooks. College helped her develop discipline, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. It also taught her to face challenges and take on new opportunities, even when the future remained uncertain.

Like many graduates, she entered the working world with dreams for herself but without knowing exactly where life would lead her. Eventually, she took a step beyond familiar surroundings and pursued opportunities abroad.

Life overseas brought a different set of challenges. Being far from family meant learning to stand on her own, adjust to a new environment, and navigate the demands of the workplace. There were difficult days, unfamiliar situations, and moments when she questioned her abilities. Yet, instead of allowing these experiences to hold her back, she learned from them and continued moving forward.

Through these experiences, Ramos discovered that growth does not always happen when everything goes according to plan. Sometimes, it comes from the moments that test one’s patience, the situations that demand courage, and the decisions to keep going despite uncertainty.

Today, her work in the hospitality and customer service industry continues to shape her both personally and professionally. She has come to appreciate the importance of patience, effective communication, adaptability, and treating every person with respect. These are lessons she carries with her each day as she builds her career in a place far from home.

Looking back, Ramos recognizes that her journey has never been a straight path. Setbacks and unexpected turns have become part of her story, each contributing to the person she is today. Her years at CarSU Cabadbaran Campus remain an important chapter, giving her lessons that continue to guide her as she faces new experiences and opportunities.

But for Ramos, the journey is far from over.

She remains proud of how far she has come while looking forward to the possibilities still ahead. Her story is a reminder to current students and fellow graduates that success does not always follow a fixed timeline. Sometimes, the path becomes clearer only after taking the first step, embracing change, and learning along the way.

For the Golden Paddlers who dream of building a future beyond familiar shores, Ramos’ journey carries a simple but meaningful message: You do not need to have everything figured out to begin. Keep learning, trust the process, and give yourself the chance to grow.

From her student days in Cabadbaran to her work in Abu Dhabi, Megghane Gayle Ramos continues to write her story one experience at a time. And wherever the next chapter takes her, she carries with her the lessons of her past, the strength she has gained, and the determination to keep moving forward.

Padayon, Golden Paddler! Your journey is still unfolding, and your next chapter may hold more possibilities than you can imagine.
