CarSU Cabadbaran conducts gender sensitivity training to newly-hired employees

Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus (CarSUCC), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training for Newly Hired Personnel on October 6, 2026, at the campus Audio-Visual Room.

The training helped newly hired personnel deepen their understanding of gender and development, respect diversity, and recognize the laws and policies that protect individuals from gender-based sexual harassment, violence, and discrimination.

The activity featured Oliver O. Salino, Officer-in-Charge of the Promotion and Advocacy Division of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Caraga, and Ms. Marjorie L. Escartin, Head of the Gender and Development Program and Training Development Unit (GPTDU), as resource speakers.

Through their discussions and insights, the speakers guided participants in understanding gender sensitivity, relevant laws and policies, and their role in creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace. They also emphasized the shared responsibility of university personnel to uphold human dignity, promote gender equality, and prevent harassment and discrimination.

Through this initiative, CarSU Cabadbaran continues to strengthen its Gender and Development programs and promote a campus culture where everyone feels respected, valued, and treated fairly.

The training served as a reminder that building a safe and inclusive university starts with understanding, respect, and the commitment of every member of the campus community.
